Biographical Sketch:

I was born on August 19, 1970 in Flossmore Illinois. We moved around a bit and then landed in Orchard Park, New York (just outside of Buffalo). Although I haven’t spent much time there since 1989, I still tell people I am "from" Buffalo and probably always will. I knew that I was into chemistry pretty early on. I also knew I was into skiing. So I did my undergraduate work at the Colorado College in Colorado Springs Colorado where I could get the best of both worlds. Graduated in 1992 and then went on to the University of Georgia where I worked in the Center for Computational Quantum Chemistry with professor Henry F. Schaefer III. Got my PhD in 1997 and did a postdoc at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem with Sason Shaik. After two years I came back to the US and did a split teaching/research postdoc with Weston Borden at the University of Washington in Seattle. Two years later and here I am at Marist college in Poughkeepsie , NY.

I am currently into biking both on and off road. Play racquetball as much as possible. As soon as the snow flies, I’ll be on the slopes. Hopefully we will have more snow this year than last. I’m in the process of buying a house. Happy to not be moving around so much anymore. Guess that’s about it.
