It is well known that H.E.O.P. students and alumni are successful individuals and contribute greatly to the college community and to society. H.E.O.P. (a division of Student Academic Affairs) has undergone some difficult financial years since the gubernatorial election of 1994. H.E.O.P. escaped elimination in 1995 but suffered a 25% budget cut. H.E.O.P. did not receive a budget increase until 1999. With the rising costs of college and the level of funding for H.E.O.P. has put tremendous financial burdens on H.E.O.P. students and their families. It is imperative that we lobby our local legislators to gain their support for H.E.O.P. Below is a list* of New York State legislators.
