Since March of 2006, Marist has been piloting a new “collaborative learning environment” (CLE) developed by the Sakai consortium, an international non-profit organization made up of colleges and universities. As part of this pilot, the Institute for Data Center Professionals replaced the Educator eLearning System with this “open-source” CLE as the primary course management system for its fully online certification program.

This luncheon series is intended to provide an overview of the Sakai system (named iLearn for Innovative Learning Environment and Resource Network), the outcomes from our recent pilot activities, and answer questions about the system’s future at Marist College.

NOTE: Although the same general information will be shared at each luncheon, faculty are welcome to attend any and all sessions to ask questions and get updated information.
